Here is a popular shloka (verse) dedicated to Lord Krishna:
Here is a well-known verse (shloka) honouring Lord Krishna:
Yada Yada Hi Glanirbhavati Bharat Dharmasya.
अभ्युत्थानमधर्मस्य तदात्मनं स्रजम्यहम ॥
The verse's meaning is as follows:
"O Bharata (Arjuna), whenever there is a loss of dharma and a rise in unrighteousness, at that time I manifest on earth, taking birth to guard the righteous and annihilate the wicked."
This poem makes the point that anytime morality wanes and injustice and immorality rise, the divine takes on human form to uphold morality, defend the just, and expel the forces of evil. Arjuna received assurance from Lord Krishna that he would show up whenever such a necessity arose.
Transliteration:
Yada yada hi glanirbhavat Bharata dharmasya,
Tadatmanam srijamyaham abhyutthanamadharmasya.
Translation:
O Arjuna, I present Myself on Earth whenever there is a decrease in righteousness and an increase in unrighteousness.
This verse is taken from the revered Hindu text known as the Bhagavad Gita. On the battlefield of Kurukshetra, Lord Krishna, an avatar of Lord Vishnu, conveys this message to Arjuna, stressing the necessity of the Lord's divine intervention to restore righteousness when it is threatened.
