 The distance by car between Pune and Kedarnath






The distance of the road trip from Pune to Kedarnath, which passes through several states, is about 1,500 km (930 miles). A general path you can take is as follows:


Pune to Mumbai: Take the Mumbai-Pune Motorway from Pune to Mumbai to begin your journey. Depending on traffic, the journey from Pune to Mumbai by road is about 150 kilometers (93 miles) long and takes 3 to 4 hours.


Mumbai to Surat: Continue travelling westward from Mumbai towards the Gujarati city of Surat. Take the Mumbai-Ahmedabad Motorway, then the NH 48 (formerly NH 8), heading in the direction of Surat. Around 275 kilometres (171 miles) separate Mumbai from Surat, and it takes 5 to 6 hours to drive that distance.


From Surat, go towards Vadodara (Baroda) in Gujarat before arriving in Udaipur. Continue on the NH 48 (formerly NH 8), then head towards Udaipur in Rajasthan. It takes about 7-8 hours to go from Surat to Udaipur, which is situated about 380 kilometers (236 miles) away.


From Udaipur, proceed to Jaipur, which is the state capital of Rajasthan. To reach Jaipur, take NH 58 and NH 48 (formerly NH 8). There are 390 kilometers (242 miles) between Udaipur and Jaipur, and it takes about 7-8 hours to drive there.


Delhi to Jaipur: Continue your journey towards Delhi, the Indian capital city, from Jaipur. Drive towards Delhi on the NH 48 (formerly known as the NH 8). It takes about 5 to 6 hours to go from Jaipur to Delhi, which is located about 280 kilometers (174 miles) away.


Travel from Delhi to Haridwar in Uttarakhand and then on to Guptkashi. To go to Haridwar, take the NH 334 and the NH 7. It takes about 4-5 hours to travel the 220 kilometers (137 miles) between Delhi and Haridwar. Continue from Haridwar to Guptkashi, which is the town closest to Kedarnath. Around 190 kilometers (118 miles) separate Haridwar and Guptkashi, and traveling the trip by car takes 7-8 hours.


Driving from Guptkashi to Gaurikund, the starting point for the hike to Kedarnath, will get you to Kedarnath. 30 kilometers (19 miles) separate Guptkashi and Gaurikund, and traveling time is between one and two hours. You have two options for getting to Kedarnath from Gaurikund: either you can hike there for around 16 kilometers (10 miles), or you can hire a pony or a palanquin for the steep ascent.


Please be aware that the distances and travel times listed are merely estimates and may change depending on the state of the road, the amount of traffic, and the driver's pace. It is wise to prepare for your trip in advance, think about overnight stays if necessary, and make sure you have the right permits and paperwork for interstate travel.
